Great lashes, irritated eyes
I fell in love with professionally applied, stunning lash extensions that I used to wear daily, until suddenly, after 6 months of regular wear, out of nowhere my eyes started getting incredibly irritated. I had no idea what had caused it, but all of a sudden I had an allergic reaction to them!
Within 24hours, I had extremely swollen eye lids, pained, puffy eyes and the itchiness was unbearable! I loved the look of long lashes, but I had to get my lashes taken off and instantly, my eyes started to feel better.

Glues, tools and lashes picked with care
I researched far and wide for glue and lashes that would be non-irritating. I learnt so much about allergy-free products along the way and eventually found a lash extension glue that claimed to be non-irritating. Finally!
It then took weeks to find a lash technician that was willing to use the lash glue I had brought into their salon. Not an easy task - due to their health and safety policies, most lash technicians were unwilling to do my lashes with my glue.

The excitement returned,
as did the irritation
When I finally got to see a professional technician who was happy to let my try this supposedly non-irritating glue, I was so excited! The technician applied my lashes carefully and told me that allergic reactions to lash glue and extensions has become a widespread issue. The result looked great, I loved my set of hybrids, staring into the mirror any chance I got.
But over night, discomfort and itchiness returned. I woke up in agony, returning back to the salon to have the lashes removed. After a hospital visit and prescription of steroid medication there I was once again no lashes.

There has to be a way
I was devastated and kept thinking - there has to be a way to get long, stunning lashes that don’t affect or irritate me.
So after a lot of testing (and a few more uncomfortable hospital visits) I finally found the perfect glue! I was once again on a week-long waitlist for an appointment with a lash technician willing to use my glue, when I thought “I can do this myself. I know I can find a DIY method!” And so…. LASH IT your way was born.
